Terms of use for the online screeners

1. Purpose and audience

The online screeners of the SwissDTx Library are a free tool for healthcare professionals such as physicians, psychotherapists or nurses. They turn published, freely usable questionnaires into a digital form so that professionals can complete them together with their patients. They are not intended for self-assessment by lay people.

2. Not a medical device, not a diagnosis

The online screeners are not a medical device within the meaning of the Swiss Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO) or Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and are not certified as such. They do not make a diagnosis, do not give treatment recommendations and do not replace clinical judgement.

3. What the tool calculates

The tool adds up the points according to the scoring manual of the original instrument. For the IPAQ it calculates MET minutes according to the published IPAQ protocol. All item values are shown so that you can verify the result. Ranges and cut-offs shown come from the cited literature; SwissDTx does not assess them and adds no interpretation of its own.

4. Responsibility of the professional

You decide whether an instrument is suitable for your patient, interpret the result and make all clinical decisions on your own responsibility. Check the result against the original instrument before important decisions. If there are signs of acute risk, your usual emergency and crisis procedures apply.

5. Language versions

Not every language version is validated for every population. The source of each version is shown with the questionnaire.

6. Data protection

Answers are processed only in your browser. They are neither stored nor transmitted to SwissDTx or third parties and are deleted when you close the window. A PDF or printout is created locally on your device; keeping it is subject to your professional secrecy and documentation duties. Do not enter names or other identifying details; the patient code field is optional. Questionnaire answers are not included in website analytics. Otherwise, the SwissDTx privacy policy applies.

7. Rights to the instruments

The questionnaires belong to their authors or rights holders. SwissDTx only uses instruments whose use is freely permitted according to the rights holders and cites the source. Their use implies no partnership with or endorsement by the rights holders.

8. Warranty and liability

The online screeners are offered free of charge and without warranty of accuracy, completeness or continuous availability. To the extent permitted by law, SwissDTx accepts no liability for damage arising from use or from decisions based on the results. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains reserved.

9. Changes and governing law

SwissDTx may change the online screeners and these terms or discontinue the service at any time. Swiss law applies. Contact: see imprint.
