What is SwissDTx™ exactly?

SwissDTx™ is a therapeutic collaboration platform to connect therapists and their patients in a digital ecosystem; allowing them to work and communicate remotely. We want to increase the access to professional therapy available and allow people with disorders to work on their mental health anytime, anywhere and on any digital device. Also, we want to take the opportunity to improve research by collecting and processing valuable data (anonymised, non-commercial) and help scientists run their clinical trials digitally.

How does your therapy workspace work?

We will provide you with a toolset to conduct your therapeutic work with one easy-to-use platform, uniting all functionalities you need for blended treatments. Your patient will be able to join the companion app which is designed according to his cognitive capacities (age based user interface design) Moreover, we want to improve the availability and distribution of scientifically developed therapies with an online-store for commercially available evidence-based treatments professional therapists.

How are the therapies created and assigned?

You will be able to build your own treatments (for example questionnaries or videos) and assign them to each patient individually. You can also adapt treatments on the fly if you see that your patient needs another type of module or complementary exercises. Don't have time to build your own therapy? How does digital psychotherapy work?

Yes it does, especially for blended treatment. And it works as good as face-to-face meetings. Virtual therapy has already been used in web based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety,  for social phobia and other conditions.

How can technology based intervention help?

Technology based intervention can improved the classic mental health care delivery model significantly by scaling equitable access to mental healthcare. It can mitigate issues related to equity, inclusion and access to underserved populations. And it generates data which is historically missing  in psychopathology.

By definition, Digital therapeutics (DTx) are a digital health category defined by the Digital Therapeutics Alliance as products that “deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to patients that are driven by high quality software programs to prevent, manage, or treat a medical disorder or disease.”

How does online therapy actually work?

Yes it does. Clinical researchers from the University of Zürich have studied whether online psychotherapy and conventional face-to-face therapy are equally effective in experiments. Not only was their theory confirmed, the results for online therapy even exceeded their expectations.

How can technology based intervention help?

By taking advantage of easily available technology, the classic mental health care delivery model can be improved significantly by providing access to evidence-based treatment for underserved population groups.

How can I use it for my therapy?

Ask your therapists if he can give you access and assign online-activities to you. Remember that this solution is made for blended CBT treatment. Depending on your mental health condition, other therapies may be better.

How does the collaboration-app work?

Your patients will receive the interactive tasks and contents you assign to him within the patient-platform. He will make his excersises there and you will be notified about his progress. Your patient can also message you directly if he needs help or get's stuck.

How safe is my personal and medical data really?

SwissDTx™ is built on a privacy-first approach. Respecting and providing data security is one of the most critical steps to move forward with DTx. That's why protecting your data is our biggest concern and we can proudly say that your data is safer with us than with your e-banking account.

Do I have to pay?

No, you don't pay to use the collaboration app for patients. Your therapists has to buy a license to use the platform - and if he doesn't have one you should tell him or her to do so.

What is required to use this app?

Basically, you just need your personal digital device (smartphone, tablet, computer) and a stable internet connection.

Can I sign-up to SwissDTx™ by myself?

No, you can't. SwissDTx™ is not a self-serving app. You have to attend psychotherapy with a professional psychotherapists who can then sign you up for the collaboration app. Please note: Mental health disorders are serious; don't cure yourself without professional help. We strongly recommend to always seek professional help.

Can I use SwissDTx™ for clinical research?

Yes, you can. We are currently working on the development of the software and expect to be ready in 2023. The first beta-release will be for researchers only. Enough time for you to get in touch with us.

How do I get my research data?

We are gathering the specifications for decentralised clinical trials and define how the data-modelling looks. Our plan is to create a research platform where you can see result in real-time and get extensive insights on your data.

Where is the data stored?

Our technical infrastructure and all the services are located in Switzerland. However, if you need to have the data-storage in another country, we can make this happen.

How much does it cost to run a clinical trial with SwissDTx™?

We are working on that.

What happens with the research data afterwards?

Your data is stored. Depending on the contract, you can exclude it from further use. But the idea is to ultimately share scientific insights with other researchers. Let's discuss what suits you best.
